Found in thorny bushlands alongside species like Euphorbia esculenta and Ferox, it has a cylindrical, columnar growth with tubercles resembling corn kernels and toothpick-like spikes. Flowers are golden-yellow, and leaves sun-stress to a pinkish hue. Valued for its striking variegated patterns.
