Ariocarpus 'Godzilla' is a unique cultivar of Ariocarpus fissuratus, bred in captivity for its textured epidermis by enthusiasts in Japan. Ariocarpus fissuratus is native to the Chihuahuan Desert in Mexico and southwest Texas. These plants thrive in harsh, arid deserts, growing low to the ground or even below. In nature, they are found in dry, acidic, loamy soils, while the 'Godzilla' cultivar is prized by collectors and grown in homes or greenhouses. As it grows, its leaves become larger and more textured, resembling reptile skin. It takes 8-12 years to flower, with bright pink to violet blooms. This slow grower can take up to 50 years to reach 15 cm in diameter and is often grafted onto other cacti to speed up growth. We love this species for its warty, reptilian appearance, the reason it was created!
Plant is in 4" pot and you will receive the exact specimen in picture.
