Endemic to Eastern South Africa, this spiny, caudex-forming Euphorbia prefers subtropical climates with warm summers and mild winters. Euphorbia clavigera grows in sandy, well-draining soils across open grasslands, producing greenish-yellow flowers. Collectors prize it for its large caudex, often displayed above the soil.
